In Excel you have 256 columns to work with, if this is not enough then you'll need to consolidate some of your data. If you just want to insert a column between other columns, use Insert, Columns from the top menu.

Inserting columns or adding as in getting the sum?

To add additional columns, click on the letter of the column (it will select the column) click insert and then column and it will add a column to the left of the selected column.

(Addition)
Click at the end of the column and click on the sum button (it is the greek symbol) It will highlight the fields it will sum (make changes if neccessary) and press enter.
