Do you think President Bush has made us safe through the Creation of the Department of Homeland Security? Or, do you think we're safer now because of Bush's audacious military campaigns in Afghanistan, and Iraq?

Neither. Pres. Bush has created another time-consuming corporation-like bureaucracy in the DHS and has made us more of a target with his cavalier and fascist foreign policy. In my opinion.

America and Americans are not any safer now then we were the day before 911. - this is nothing but Republican BS and propaganda!

No I think you are using a wrong premise.

We have had no more "Terrorist" attacks since 911 because the Terrorists had no desire to do anymore, besides they are doing an excellent job of killing off our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan where Bush is sending them for target practice!

I am sure that had the Terrorists desired to wipe out millions of Americans prior to this time if that was their ultimate goal - they would have since Bush has claimed that they have tons of WMDs in the nature of Anthrax and other poisonous germs and gasses!

The last attack on US soil, prior to 9/11 was the 93 WTC bombing. 8 years later 9/11 happened. It's been 6 years since 9/11. Clearly, it's too soon to declare that Bush has secured America from terrorists attacks. Terrorists have immense patience, I think you are jumping the gun by saying Bush has made us safer.

He has? There have been 2 terrorist attacks on American soil. 1 under Clinton and 1 under Bush so how has anything Bush done made us any safer? I think his actions have created a much larger and much more dangerous climate for Americans throughout the world. Terrorist groups should make Bush the poster child since his actions have created a recruitment bonanza for them.

He must have followed up on what Clinton was doing. Under the previous administration we went nearly 8 years without an attack after the WTC bombing in 1993.
For anyone wanting to ask about the Cole, I would remind them of the terrorist attack on the American embassy in Greece a couple of months ago as well as the countless attacks on American interests in Baghdad and other parts of Iraq.

I can't even believe the rubbish your question represents.

If the terrorists were ready and waiting for an opportunity to strike, why didn't they during Hurricane Katrina? We proved, beyong doubt, this country's government cannot handle any sort of disruption in the normal flow of things whatsoever. Or, they could just walk across our southern border--absolutely nothing has been done to secure our borders...or they could plant bombs inside containers ships--we haven't bothered inspecting them, either.

The thing is, you've been duped big time by Bush and Co.-gobbled up their lies with a spoon. There is no bad guy waiting to attack, but being deflected by Bush. That is a foolish and irresponsible lie.

You are soooooooooo delusional to think this! The US has more enemies now than ever before. What makes you think that the 911 attacks were planned and orchestrated by foreigners? Why do you think there was such a thorough cover-up job to keep all the important details of the incident hush-hush? And if you think there was no cover-up and inside conspiracy then you are seriously deluded.
We are not safer than we were before - quite the contrary...

George, Sr., Ronald Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon - heck you know who the Presidents are - apparently were better than G-Dub at protecting us from international terrorist attacks. There were no terrorist attacks under their leadership.

Only under the leadership of Bush did we have a major international terrorist attack.

Now, Clinton had a little, ineffective one in 1993, but maybe that was left over from Bush, Sr.

I don't really think it's anything that he has accomplished. Think back to 9/11. We were all educated about Al Queda back then and their modes of operation. I remember clearly all the examples of how Al Queda takes an average of over 6 years to plan large scale attacks. Knowing how open our borders are and how poorly monitored our ports are does not exactly give me hope that Al Queda has stayed out of the United States. It's not as though they can't spare operatives to come to the U.S. and here is an example that shows that to be true:

Porous borders that could allow terrorists into the United States is a prime concern for Webb County Sheriff Rick Flores and his counterparts.

What worries Flores is people other than Mexicans coming across the border with dirty bombs or weapons of mass destruction.
"Mexico has already apprehended Iraqis in Mexico," Flores said.

FROM REP. JOHN CULBERSON'S GOVERNMENT WEBSITE:

...Texas Republican Congressman John Culberson has introduced legislation to help law enforcement officials identify and to detain people who are sneaking in the U.S. illegally. He says known terrorists have recently been apprehended at our borders. And he joins us now with the details.

REP. JOHN CULBERSON (R), TEXAS: Well, in fact the FBI director, Robert Mueller, first testified to our subcommittee in appropriations that the FBI has knowledge of individuals from countries with known Al Qaeda connections who have entered the United States leaving false Hispanic identities, pretending to be illegal immigrants and entering the country and disappearing.

CULBERSON: I then followed that lead to the river, went to Laredo, went to the Rio Grande River, saw firsthand the war on terror going on there. And the Hudspeth County sheriff, Arvin West, and the Brewster County, Ronnie Dodson, confirmed for me that they had an Al Qaeda terrorist, an Iraqi national who was on the FBI's terrorist list as an Al Qaeda member in the Brewster County jail. He had been apprehended by Mexican authorities, handed over by the Mexican authorities to the Hudspeth County sheriff, with whom the Mexican authorities had a good working relationship...
