It is your desicion, but honestly you should just leave it up to God and your body. I am on my third pregnancy and I know how uncomfortable it is and you just want to get it over with. But your body is the one that knows when it is ready for the baby to be born, so do not stress it. Your baby should come when you and your body are ready. Relax and try not to induce labor in any way, let nature take it's course. Good luck!

Technically the longer the baby is in the womb the better. However, I had one baby at 37 weeks and the other was born 38 weeks. My 37 week old baby had to stay in the NICU for 5 days. So, let this baby come whenever he/she is ready. Walking will not make the baby come in faster unless you already have began labor such as mild contractions and started to dilate a little. I know your anxious but don't rush it.

look, i understand how it feels to be sick of being pregnant at that stage. I was lucky and went into labour at 37 weeks both times (hoping third time is a charm ;) ). You should be walking throughout your pregnancy anyway. Keeping your hips limber. You can also have sex (if possible) to induce labor. I would not suggest castor oil as this doesnt always work and it gives you the runs some fierce. Nipple stimulation helps as well. Good luck. And just remember, every day extra that baby stays inside is best for it!!

They're not quite full term, but they're not that premature. They're "near-term" babies, born roughly four or five weeks before their estimated due date.
They typically have normal Apgar scores, used to evaluate newborns' physical condition. Their birth weight is in the normal range. They usually go home with Mom. Most people think they must be healthy.
And generally they are. But research suggests that appearances might be deceiving in some cases. Though near-term babies on average are healthier than preemies, they may not be quite as healthy as full-term babies.
Pediatrician Marvin Wang says he became interested in studying near-term babies a few years ago after an obstetrician colleague asked about the merits of scheduling cesarean sections before the 37th week of gestation, when babies are considered full-term.
It's rumored that some celebrity moms have asked to deliver their babies via C-section a month before their due dates to get a head start on slimming down, says Wang, co-director of the newborn nursery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
He says celebrities aren't the only mothers asking for C-sections before 37 weeks. Indeed, research suggests that "patient-choice" C-sections are on the rise. Wang says comments he has heard suggest that some might be scheduled too early so Mom can fit maternity leave into her work schedule. When he lectures about near-term infants' health problems, Wang says, "The nurses will say, 'Man, can you tell our OBs this?' "

I am 37 weeks and I am miserable but for my baby's sake I will stick it out until he and my body feel ready to go through labor.

Heh yes at 37 weeks you are consider full term. Your pregnancy sounds as bad as mine except i was stuck on the couch due to preterm labor. Walking doesnt necessarily help get things moving its just good to do for your delivery. When I hit 36 weeks I started walking every night for 2 hours and I still had my baby at 41.5 weeks. Some people love being pregnant, other (you and myself) are not that fond of the feeling. I swear to my fiance that our daughter tortured my stomach and broke my ribs. Take it easy tho you are still pregnant. Look into pressure point you can have your SO rub to help things along. I am a massage therapist and gentle rubbing of the ankle are good but not before the baby is ready. Try getting prenatal massage, not only do they feel good but they should be able to help with that. I dony suggest using anything of the home remedies like castor oil and anything like that, it can just give you bad diahrrea. Good luck and it will get better. I promise

Unless your care provider doesn't want you to, there is no reason for you not to be walking now. Keep in mind, though, that the baby will come when it is ready. All the walking in the world will not make you go into labor if the baby isn't ready.

Are you not allowed to walk for some reason?
walking helps my heartburn a lot--it gets your intestines moving and clears out your tummy.
I'd start walking now if you're allowed.
