Yeah, you got the first question right. The second would be 5km/h...

1.5km in 18mins = 1km in 12mins
5km in 60mins

Number 1 is certainly correct 1000m = 1km
Number 2:
1.5 km/18 min = x km/hr

Convert 18 min into hours (60min/hour=18 min/ x hr). So divide 18 by 60. That gives you 0.3

So...
1.5km/0.3hr

I'm sure that you can do that one. Good work.

1) Right.

2) Wrong.

Method:

1hr = 60min

(60min * 1.5km)/18min=5km/hr

I did not convert 18min to hours since you end up with a decimal/fraction. That's tedious for me. Not to mention the limitations when typing it out on a keyboard. So i simply conveted 1hour to minutes, it is lot easier to solve that way. You should be able to understand easily as well.

Your second answer is wrong. It should be 5km/h

You need to convert your 18mins to hour. Which is 18/60= 0.3hr.

To find average speed, take 1.5km/0.3h and you'll get 5km/h

The answers above give you what you want so I'll just add don't tell yourself that you suck at math. Not everyone is a good computational person. If you give up on math you close off half the world to yourself. Find a friend who is good at math and work together. It is worth it.

Good luck.
