I had a reduction about 4 years ago. I am SO happy that I did it. My insurance paid completely for mine. Make sure that your surgeon notes any related medical issues. For example, I had indentations on my shoulders from the weight/bra straps. Secondary to that, I had parasthesis to my hands and fingers. I also had back pain. I'm very sure these things contributed to my insurance's final decision to pay for the surgery.
As far as being afraid, don't worry. It will be very sore, of course, for a while after the surgery, but then you will be very happy with the results once you heal.
Best of luck to you!

I'm 20 and I wear a 32A--it sucks!!! But you never know how big you'll be. And an A cup is not flat for a 12 year old! When I was 12 I didn't even need a bra. If you're friends have bigger breasts than you, they're the strange ones, not you. Your body is going to change so much in the next few years that you won't believe it. I predict that you'll be just fine and you'll turn into a beautiful woman. 5'5" is a lovely height too, I wish I was that tall.

Being over sized in the bust area can be painful and cause all of the problems that you are having. In a lot of cases the insurance company may not want to pay for it because it is plastic surgery. HOWEVER, if your doctor can prove to the insurance company that this surgery is necessary for your health they should cover at least a part of it for you. Good luck, I hope you are feeling better soon.

If your consulting doctor states that there is a physical necessity for this and that your health is compromised or impared due to this condition, insurance has no problem with approving it.
Insurance also grinds slow, thus the 4-6 week wait. They are also hoping that you will change your mind.

Most likely they will because this is not simply cosmetic. You are facing a lifetime of back and muscle problems without the procedure, and that would be WAY more costly to an insurance company in the long run. It is in their best interest to have this procedure done now.

They will definitely approve it and pay for it especially since it is affecting your health. If your doctor sent it through and sees a need for the reduction there should be no reason at all that they will not pay for it. My mom and sister in law have had to have reductions done and insurance has paid theirs. And theirs weren't as big as yours, you poor thing! :)

You should have NO PROBLEMS getting approval. I mean. a G cup!
I was a 38J and got approved by my insurance for my breast reduction (went to a 38C).
Life is SO MUCH better.
Good luck!
IF you don't get approval (I do not see you getting turned down though) APPEAL!

IF, for some strange reason, they deny you. Gather information on the future problems that may arise by NOT getting the surgery. Then submit a comparison of the costs.
Maybe that would help.

Usually your insurance will cover it seeing as your having back pain and you have the indents on your shoulders, I think the only reason they wouldn't cover it would be for cosmetic reasons, good luck, hope everything goes well!
