Fuel is a good alternative to the spray for cleaning the carb. After you've cleaned the carb and replaced the spark plug, get your valve clearances sorted, mine was hard to start from about the 3rd ride, started and responed quicker after I checked and re set the valve clearance.Another thing to remember as these bikes don't use a lot of fuel, they don't like stale fuel, try and use fresh fuel everytime you ride.
Good Luck

First thing is pull the plugs - see what color they are. If they are brown and/or have oil or wetness on them, you are not getting much spark. Replacing and re-gap-ping the plug is a start. Before putting the plug in, you will want to test it, make sure you have good spark.
If you have good spark, and have cleaned the air filter - you may want to check to make sure the choke is working properly. If that appears to be working well, then its probably time to pull the carburetor, and take it apart (carefully - use an egg carton to keep parts separated), and physically clean it with brush, tooth-brush and carb cleaner. Then put it all back together, make sure the petcock is open, have fresh gas, and give it a go!

Remove the pilot jet from the carb (long and thin jet).
Hold it up to the light. You should be able to see through it.
If you can't, push a strand of wire through it.
Get a wire brush and pull a strand of wire out with a pair of pliers.
Change the spark plug and clean the air cleaner.
