Given : Displacement,d = 10km
= 10000m
Time Consumed,t = 20minutes
= 1200 seconds
Then : Velocity = d/t
=10000m/1200s
= 8.333m/s

Car travels 10km per 20 minutes. Now you need to get its speed right; and normally the unit for speed is kph(km per hour). So you need to get the total distance it travel in an hour. Now again your car travels 10km per 20 mins. In an hour there are 60 minutes. Assuming that the car won't accelerate or decrease in speed, you would have 30km per hour. 30kph
IF you need formula you could have...
f(y)=10y
;wherein y=(minutes per hour)/ (no. of minutes)
now solution:
first solve for y...
y=60/20
y=3
then substitute the value of y to the give equation.
f(y)=10y
f(y)=10(3)
f(y)=30
Note: the equation I gave is not a standard equation. However, it is derived from the given problem, hence it is applicable.

Well take the facts you know.The car has travelled 10km.the time taken is 20Min's.How many minutes in an hour,60 right.So 20 minutes is a third of an hour.so in an hour the car would travel 3times 10km. So in an hour it has travelled 30km.So the speed of the car is 30km.per hour.

In science speed or velocity is always measured in m/s so try this:
10 km = 10 x 1000 m = 10 000 metres
20 min = 20 x 60 sec = 1200 seconds
So speed = distance/time = 10 000/1200 = 8.3333 m/s
Hope this proves useful.

Multiply everything by 3, and you have 30km in 60 minutes, or 30 kilometers per hour. That would be the average speed over the trip, which is all you can ascertain from the given data.
This is about 18.64 miles per hour, so must have been your grandma driving.

v=s/t
where: v=velocity(m/s); s=displacement(m); t=time(s)
20 mins x 60 = 1200 seconds
10km x1000 = 10,000 metres
so put in the values:
v=10,000/1200
v=8.3333333......m/s (8 and a third)
fast car
