i would rather listen to someones nails going down a blackboard than r&b. i totally agree with you,its crap. its noisey and pointless. i will be a clubber forever,trance music is in a class of its own. r&b should be scrapped. whole lota noise for nothing if you ask me.

I would rather listen to the advert for Cillit Bang than the type of music that is known as R&B these days - and I hate that advert with a passion.
Back in my day "R&B" was "Rythm and Blues" played by groups like the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds and the Animals. I can't think of many better types of music if you go by the old definition.

What has Rhythm and Blues degenerated into that people hate it so much? R&B helped foster much of Rock and Roll (they are cousins), Country and Western, Funk Music and Soul Music. When R&B was young (in the 50's) many in the older generation hated it (along with R&R) because it didn't feature horn sections like Big Band Music. I have seen (on TV) R&B legends like Chuck Berry praise Hip Hop and Rap.

Nope i generally can't stand it as it seems to sound much the same and rely on the same cliches and have the same videos etc.
That said, every genre has it's good moments and R & B, like any, sometimes comes up with classic pop songs that cross over because they are generally good songs.
But on the whole, going deaf seems a favourable alternative,,,

R&B is the worst type of music but Rock Hard Rock and Metal are the best.

Personally, the r&b of today's world is crap, ie, ice box, mario, etc. P e r l e a s s s e !
HOWEVER, r&b of the 90's and 80's is wicked man, you cant knock that, you have to listen to various different songs to see what kind you like and you have to be in certain mood.

Old School R&B is the best of all music. The stuff they call R&B of today sucks. You don't get any better than Marvin Gaye, The Tempatations, or the Supremes.

Well...back in the day it was good, like Aerosmith vs. RunDMC was a great collaboration! But now rap, hiphop and R&B are just boring and sad! xx

i think r&b is just tlkin to a tune and i would rather listen to classical (urgh) than to r&b
