a few months ago i dumped my ex because he slaped me but he was drunk. i think he still likes me and i like him too only i'm scared if i get back together wth him he will hit me again?
what do i do?

There is no excuse for violence. That is he has none and YOU, sister, do not have one for staying with him. I grew up a child of a violent alcoholic that ruined my life. Until I was able to confront him, I had a lot of problems as a teen.
You say "LIKE" then I feel you are young. If you are under 25 reconsider your furure now. If you met him drinking he will be what you met. If you are over 30 and have been with him double digits and this just started THEN....please seek couples therapy and accept nothing ledss than an AA program for him and ALANON for you both. Dont put up withthis and until you get this resolved do not drink yourself. You are not pentalizing yourself, you are going to make a clear decision and not be swayed by alcohol in your decisions. Once it is resolved whether you stay together or not, then you move forward. You are not responsible for this. Dont accept it and you will be better for it! My mom ended up in the hospital and tried to commit suicide and I do not drink at all. Thanks Dad - (he still drinks by the way and I am 42).

A man should never hit a woman, EVER! There is no excuse for it, if you let him do it once he will get the okay to do it when ever he pleases. I would not take anyone back who strikes me but then again I have only been hit once by my ex and it made me laugh. When she attempted to hit me again she got a free lesson in Hapkido and never did it again, and no I did not hit her. I know you love him but if he hit you then he has anger issues, if you do get back with him make him give up drinking.

You did the right thing by dumping him.
If you go back to him, it shows you do not value yourself.
He's an alcoholic and he slapped you because he can't control himself when drunk.
If you go back to him, YES, he will continue to hit you and continue to drink too much.
Any man who hits a woman because he's drunk, IS an alcoholic.
If he goes to AA and works a program successfully, only then will he be ready to be in any relationship with a woman.

Any woman that goes back to a man that hit her obviously didn't get hit hard enough. So, are you going to wait till he beats the crap out of you to understand that neither person has an excuse for laying a hand the other person?

If the first slap didn't jar some sense into you, the next one will. Don't be someone's human punching bag whether he's drunk or sober. You'll lower yourself if you decide to start up with him again.

STAY WELL AWAY!!!! I could never hit a woman no matter how much drink I'd had, this will only ever end in pain. He has no excuse and you should never give him another chance.

Just ask yourself is it worth all the heartache again??? And more importantly,Will he slap you again,You dont get many people who only slap once.
Also are there any children involved,Because saying your together one minute then saying its over,can really affect them later on.
Weigh up your options,Only you know whats the right decision.

Try to meet him with your 'current' making him hide somewhere out of the others' sight. If he is again drunk and tries to hurt you, make the other to deal with him and slowly vanish from the spot.

well i split up with my x 8 months ago and he keeps txting me to see how iam fMILY AND FRIENDS ARE he still cares for me i think but it wont work out the 3rd time you better of with out him he just keep on hitting you i tell u run b4 he gets you again my x cheate don me with another girl please move on i have i nfeel great since i ran from him
