I'm tired, but I need the money. Not to mention the glory.

Write in bed. Cuts out the middle man. Also, it's a great way to log your dreams if you have a pen and paper handy near your bed.

The choice between either writing a book or going to bed is vast. The need for money and the need for glory is also vast. Just keep it simple. Discover your real impetus for writing.

So many people are driven in life. As they accumulate titles, honors and experiences it takes longer and longer to list all their accomplishments. They are driven to do something useful. Why not just Be ?

Go and find solitude and the quiet springs inside you. Yes go back to bed if you must. Or step out of your own preoccupations and obsessions for glory. That’s what you think your environment is pushing you to strive for.

Find your CARE button. So often caring is seen about being indifferent. e.g. I don't really don't care for coffee; I don't really care going out tonight.

True caring is about finding that deep spot and it is far from being indifferent. It is about passion and being passionate. Yes have a cause if you must. Somewhere a writer has to find that they CARE about something in life.

Whatever Al Gore represents to you, his latest venture shows us a man who cares about the environment and has a world wide mission. Through his work "An Inconvenient Truth" he has pressed his CARE button and is restating what many people have been saying for long enough. He has used his communication skills to make us sit up and listen. He has the evidence and the research and scholarship to back up what he says.

Now he is the butt of jokes. He turned 59 the other day. Some person quipped that all the many candles on his birthday cake were the real cause of global warming.

So BE the butt of jokes BE noticed and write because you CARE. Whatever people say about you, why worry. Show you have found that vital spot. Be creative dare to be different.

Go back to bed and let your empty stomach fuel you to get up and start again. BE free of glory and honors. You have to find a motivation that is real. The CARE button is what would do it. Reflect on what your community needs and how you can bring people to care more and how you can overcome the cancerous condition called indifference.

There is a story about a person who saw this wonderful old twisted tree. He remarked how old and twisted it had become. The comment was that if it had been a beautiful tree it would have been cut down long ago to make tables and chairs. Instead its twisted trunk and branches had survived to become a place where people would enjoy sitting in the shade it had created.

Listen to the stories of great writers absorb them then put them aside and go away and reflect on what your own strengths are and rediscover how you can be a voice.

My own personal source is the sacred writings from the bible. They are timeless and they are the soul source for many a writer.
However you find out what floats your boat and gets you going. All the very, very best.

Money and glory are the worst reasons to write a book. You should write a book because you have something that needs to be expressed.

Unless you write junk, you can't write a book in one night. Besides, once you write a book, there are many more steps -- who's gonna be your agent? your publisher? Who's gonna look out for your interests? I believe you said in an earlier response that you are a writer. If that's true and you have an agent and a publisher, you are too tired to write anything of interest. Go to bed and come up with a great idea tomorrow!

And, let me know how you got an agent and publisher. I can't afford to self-publish and can't find an agent willing to take on an unknown author. You can reply to: TexasDolly2001@yahoo.com

You should start writing the book now. Maybe by the time you are done you will have the money. Good luck.

If it is not a passionate desire and your only other option is go to bed. That is waht you should do. Success comes from in-convience and a passionate desire. Does not sound like you have that, I would suggest looking for a job.

Interesting predicament. Interesting subject for a book, hopefully 100,000 words or more. Agents will be all over it.
