I would put money on the fact that John Blackwell is the fastest drummer ever. Not just simple beats either. He has some really cool fills too. He plays his kick drum with the heal and ball of his feet so he can play it twice as fast as most drummers can. Not too many people can play that way, it's very complicated. I think right now he's on tour with Justin Timberlake believe it or not. You should check him out.

Are we talking "famous drummers" or "drummers in general"? Because you know there's some strange introverted dude who sits at home all day practicing drums 24/7. Someone that no one's ever heard of...just sits and plays. There are some ridiculous undiscovered percussionists.
As for "famous drummers", I have to go with the drummer from Lamb of God. Some of the tracks are just...inhuman.

Yes it is true, but SIMPLE BEATS! Fast drummers usually do make simple beats. Any death metal band has a fast drummer. I particularly like The Black Dahlia Murder's drummer. He is awesome live!
