Are you sure that it is your laptop? Awfully suspicious that your first and only question to the site is how to get around a password on a personal laptop. I can't say that too many home users setup password policies (strong password and change every # day requirements). If you set a hint, likely it would have been a meaningful hint to you too. I'm pretty sure you are asking for help in breaking into a stolen or found laptop. If that is the case, I truly hope the original owner was smart enough to install encryption software to prevent any data loss.

Sounds like the Windows logon password. Lucky for you, that particular password is easy to crack.

Use file decryption tools (you can get them for free from a numerous amount of websites) in combination with a CD-based OS, and that should do it.

First try starting it in safe mode (keep pressing F8 as soon as you see something on the screen) and go to Administrator account. Chances are that this account is without password, as it's accessible only in safe mode. If that works, go to control panel -> user accounts and remove the password from your account.

Go to safe mode.Choose Administration account.Go to Start-Control Panel-User Accounts.Select the lost password account. You will see remove password.Click on it.Then, windows will ask for conformation.Click Ok or something.
I have only tried it in windows XP.

I hope it would help you.
