And I mean the 99a variety, not ending in 99er (there is a difference)
here's a thought, I will bet you that 99% of you have said the 99a at least once, but only while singing along with some hip-hop song. See the difference? Or is there a difference.
Yep, white kids say the n word a lot today, not making fun of black people (or maybe they are) but really just singing hip-hop songs.
anyone see the irony in that???????????

The word is ugly no matter how you say it and no matter who says it. Look up the history in the word and than ask yourself "would I want to be called that?"

The word means a stupid person. It is disgusting to use it as a generalization to apply to a whole race. Because it has been given that meaning, it has those implications anytime you use it for anything. Even if you used it correctly (to mean a stupid person) it would still bring to mind the racist meaning, therefore it cannot be said (IMHO) without being offensive. (People choosing not to take offense in certain cases doesn't make the word inoffensive.)

It is an ugly word in any use, and with any ending, and people should get upset no matter who says it.

I have to ask myself " How many of these self righteous people answering this question, actually live by what they say on here?" Because I'll bet nearly everyone answering this question has said Both versions... because Both versions ARE found in nearly every rap song today. Get off your soap boxes people... this question was meant as a wake up call to the irony we live in today. Martin Luther King Jr. did not fight for equal rights only to have his own people push time backwards instead of forward, by claiming that words like that are okay in any context. Especially not to be said by blacks To blacks. Wake up People!

Because you white people have no right to say it. I don't agree with Blacks saying it, but white people had better not use any version of that word. It's a dead word anyway, and I think it shouldn't be used by anyone. It should have stayed in the slavery days with the rest of the racists...

Some races have words or phrases that only that particular race can use. For example: it'd be much worse for an African American to call a Caucasian person "white trash", than if a Caucasian person was saying it to someone else who was Caucasian.
