I am already seeing a gynecologist for a hormone imbalance. I was wonndering if I should also start seeing a general practitioner as well, for other health concerns not related to gynocology.

Yes you should if you haven't already be seeing a GP, who can direct you to other specialist for your health concerns.

Everyone should go to a general practitioner once a year for a physical. Gynecologists just take care of a female's reproducive parts and issues. The rest of your body needs to be checked as well.
My GP does pap smears, and presribes my birth control.

my answer is for the hormonal imbalance part. you are taking a pharmaceutical and it is causing side effects that are just not right. did you know herbs can do the same without those side effects. I am not saying your gyno is wrong its just your body and natural versus man made. I would recommend you eat licorice root or ginger root at least once a week. these condition your body to use the chemical properties best and balance utilization of them. got your attention maybe, what is the imbalance? mother nature grows herbs to treat most. you might try red raspberry leaf tea as it is strictly for reproduction of female anatomy

You should already be seeing a GP. Who does your yearly physical exam now? Also just an FYI but your GP can handle most of your GYN needs most of the time.

Yes, you should. It's always a good idea to have a GP; you never know when you may need one, and establishing a relationship while you're healthy is a VERY good idea.

Yes. Your gyn is only going to treat you for certain issues. That's why they specialized.
