Heinrich Himmler was the head of the SS and worked with the 'scientists' who experimented on ppl in the concentration camps.
He was interested in archaeology and used typology of remains to prove a past german 'superculture'. ~This was influnced by Gustaf Kossina, an archaeologist who died in 1931, who started the idea of an Aryan homeland. They believed that different racial groups has different skull shapes and sizes, which is why people were experimented on in camps.
Himmler was also behind most of the cultural ransacking of Europe and everywhere else they could get to. Anywhere they found remains ot art the looked 'german' they said it gave them the right to control that territory as it used to be German.

Kaitlin, it is not really hard to find much information about this Nazi leader, one of Hitler's closest advisers. Try a search engine, or possibly even read a history book about WWII. Now, that's a thought. People are on this site to HELP, NOT to do your work for you.

Wasn't he the head of the German propoganda movement during WWII? Not sure, but I know I heard that name on the History Channel a couple times. I believe he was the leader of the Death Head group or something. Super Nazi.

Wannabe soldier, chickenfarmer, Hitler toady, anti-semite apostle, genocide technocrat, Nazi neo-pagan mysticist, deluded turncoat.
"Although he was pedantic, dogmatic, and dull, Himmler emerged under Hitler as second in actual power. His strength lay in a combination of unusual shrewdness, burning ambition, and servile loyalty to Hitler." (Wolfgang Sauer, historian at Berkeley : http://www.grolier.com/wwii/wwii_himmler.html )
