Perhaps you could divide it into "before" and "after" - your life before you read the book and your life after, demonstrating the story's effect on you. Brainstorm on reasons you selected this book, why you feel it had such an impact. Build on those reasons when you define your life before and after reading it.

Hope this helps!
Good luck in the contest!

I guess the first question I have related to this -- Did this book REALLY change your life? Did another book have more profound impact on your life? Choose the book that has made the most difference and illustrate examples of how you related to the situations in the book and reflect on the similarities and/or differences in your own life to the characters in the book you choose.

px Writing is a gift -- not something you can learn to do except in the most rudimentary ways. Good luck.

Since the title character is a tragic figure, why not approach him from the aspect of having some of his pronouncements in the text be the opposite of what he really thinks and see if that changes him into a more ordinary character. He still is and will ever be just a sensitive little man; or will he?

This is one of my favorite books (I still have a copy from childhood sitting on my shelf).
I think that the most fundamental aspect of this book is the importance of viewing things as though your life depends on finding value in it. We want many things, but our perception of what they mean or truly are is misguided. We need to remember what it is like to see things as a child does, and that is how we can fully understand that all things are worthwhile.
My absolute favorite quote is from this book - you may remember the fox's secret...
"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

Cheers :)

you could try comparing the events of you life with those from the book. Then note any similarities or differences. (in a time line kind of way....like a parallel story.

maybe talk about how the influences the book has had on your decision making since you've read it.

i'm a wanna be too..hahahaha...well you should compare it to your life...write about the changes in your life after reading about the book...And especially...for your fantastic ending..focus on the mystery at the last part..write about how you understand the question and why is it a matter of importance to worry about the sheep eating the rose...i won't tell so you would still think ok?
