Indian Star players are almost at the retirement age so we need to find their replacements fast. Secondly, fielding is not given great importance in India and in odis fielding is a key to keep the opponents in check and within a striking distance. We do not have genuine pace bowlers on an international standards so our bowlers get beat up on the fast pitch abroad like in the West Indies. Our selectors are not totally impartial and their personal preferences play a major roll in the team selection. Indian players seem to resent foreign coaches. Maybe there is something in our mental makeup that makes us resent foreigners. Our pitches are not fast enough to prepare our player to play well in those conditions when they are playing abroad. Our players by and large suffer from a inflated ego that is pampered by the media and the spectators. Cricket is given too much glamor and money that it hasn't remain a sport but a big business and that has taken away the "innocence" from the great past time. I can go on and on but you know what I mean.

id say theyre biggest problem is going to be not getting killed back home...whats the deal w/ Indian cricket fans burning flags, poster etc etc of the players??? holding demonstrations denouncing the team??? are Indian cricket fans really that uncivilized??? or do they only love theyre team when they win...thats not how being a true fan works. you love your team when you win and you love them when you lose.

on a side note, i wonder why this practice accepted in the middle east...

the indian team must look in the mirror and ask themselves as to what just happened in the world cup and let me remind you these bunch of overpaid bums dont know what A t.e.a.m means, because i think they are selfish ,they have a lot of growing up to do and somebody needs to explain to them what a team effort really means because they have no clue by the way if this was baseball let me tell you most of these players would be looking for a day job.these guy's need to stop passing the buck and stop taking things for granted and get real. thanks.jai

The main problem with the Indian cricket team is the lack of form of their key players and also failure of the players to play to their potential consistently. They also lack dedication, application, determination, mental toughness and killer instinct.

I am fully agreed with Greg that senior players criticizes juniors.
One of the example is Irfan Pathan getting out of form due to above reason.
Sachin, saurav, sehwag, zaheer, agarkar & Harbhajan need to be stopped playing more.
Coach is not required to taught players that How to play because they are selected for national team mean they must know how to play.
Only Physical trainer to be appointed for keep fit players.
