Sounds like you have what are called Roman blinds, the ones which pleat as you pull them up.
There should be no problem in washing them by submerging them in the bath. But....make sure the water is only luke warm and not hot. Noraml clothes detergent will work fine, just brush them with a nail brush, change the water frequently if they are really grubby and make sure you rinse them well after.
When you take them out try and suspend them to drip dry (as if they were hanging in their usual spot.) The weight of them will keep them from shrinking or creasing.
This should produce a great result.

Do not on any account wash them as my wife did exactly that with our roller blind. When it was dry, it had shrunk and the material was all warped. We cut our losses and bought vertical blinds which are washable(not all are) The slats can be put into a pillow-case and washed safely.

You will not damage them...my mother has done this for as long as I can remember...just put the blinds (the whole thing) in the bath tub or sink (if they fit) with enough water to cover them and add a little bit of dish soap. Let them soak or wipe them with a cloth if they are really bad (this is what I do b/c I usually wait until they are so dusty I can't stand it!).
Or, if you don't want the hassle of taking them down off the window, just make yourself a pan of soapy water and use a washrag to just wipe over the individual blinds.
Good Luck.

Try a spray like 1001 carpet cleaning foam,my mum uses that for her cafe blind and it comes up like new,if you overwet it in the bath it will just shrink. These sprays are best used with a clean white towel, just blot gently once you have sprayed solution on evenly, best done outdoors.

Wash your blinds with hands. Don't put them in washing machine. When you wash your blinds try to use cold to medium hot water.

I always washed ny blinds in the bath and I used parozone to remove any mildew ,but you must hang them up on the line to dry immeadiately so that they do not crease.

DO NOT immerse entirely into water- the guarantee is void if you do
gently wipe with a damp cloth slat by slat ( I was told by Levelor)
dust them weekly
I dunked mine in water, had a problem with the coating , and now warranty is null and void

They will probably go all wavy at the edges. Best to wipe down with a cloth several times, preferably in the warm sunlight!
