Its 45 degree celsius in India and I am going to have a holiday with my boyfriend.
9 hours of roasting in a train as I could not get a Airconditioning seat since it was booked up !!!

Indian Railway runs Summer special trains.
Try to get a list of these trains as most of them are not known to people so chance of getting a seat is more.
You can also try to travel by breaking your journey in two parts.
For example if you are traveling from Delhi to jammu you will not reservation in any train but you can travel by shatbdi to amritsar and then take night train from there.
and reservation is easily available this way and time taken is almost same.

Take a good book, some good music. You could try taking one of those mini personal fans. The kind you hold in your hand. I would by extra batteries too, just to make sure I didn't run out. Have fun. It could be worse. At least your boyfriend will be there.

Good luck..that is a trip that you will long remember..wear loose clothing, like the people of India. You'll appreciate the way it wards off the heat...and take water, also the potty stops are interesting...
