What is 3 4/5 / 2 3/8? (simplified). I know you have to turn it into multiplication, doesn't that mean you have to flip them (3 5/4 and 2 8/3?) I got to there, multiplied, and got stuck on the reducing.

Also. Any help with

Mixed fractions are useless in math, so convert them to improper fractions first. That gives you (19/5)/(19/8). Then yes, you flip the second one, because division is multiplication by the recipricol. Thus 19/5*8/19. The 19s cancel out leaving you with 8/5.

On your second question, 3-7=-4 in the numerator. In the denominator -6-(-7) is the same thing as -6+7 which equals 1. Since 1 is in the denominator, you can leave it out so your answer is -4.

change the numbers to fractions.

3 4/5 = 19/5

2 3/8 = 19/8

19/5 / 19/8 = 19/5 * 8/19

19/19 = 1 so they cancel and left with 8/5 = 1 3/5

3-7=-4

-6- (-7)= -6+7= 1

Question 1.
3 4/5 = [ (3*5) + 4 ] / 5 = 19/5....................(A)
So also 2 3/8 = 19/8..................................(B)
Now, A / B = (19/5) / (19/8)
=(19/5) * (8/19)
=8/5 = 1 3/5 (Answer)

Question 2.
Numerator = 3 -7 = -4
Denominator = -6- (-7) = -6+7 = 1
That gives Numerator/Denominator as -4/1 = -4 (Answer)

no u do not turn both of them over ....this is how u do it
U change it into ..3.4/5=19/5
2.3/8=19/8

19/5 divided by19/8
u switch onli the first one
5/19x19/8=5/8

Is this want u wanted?

Okay question 2
3-7= -4
-6-(-7)=

the minus before the ( must multiply with the one on the inside of the bracket

So,u get -6+7 because minus x minus = +
-6+7=1

now u divide
-4 divided by 1 = -4
Got it??
Sry if it is a little confusing try to understand...

You need to change your fractions from mixed numbers, those won't work.

3 4/5 -> 19/5 --> 3 * 5 + 4 is the new numerator
2 3/8 -> 19/8

19/5 * 8/19

19's cancel out

8/5 is your answer

3 4/5 = 19/5
2 3/8 = 19/8

so, 19/5 / 19/8 = 8/5 (multipy top and bottom by 8/19)

2) 3-7 = -4; -6+7 = 1 , -4/1 = -4

try to change the mixed number into an improper fraction:

after that go on into dividing fractions:

in dividing fractions always invert the denominator and multiply the inverted denominator to the numerator...

after you got the product if it's an improper fraction simplify it by making it into a mixed number ^^,
