You've packed a lot of questions in there, and I'll try to answer them one at a time.
Friday has long been considered unlucky because of the Crucifixion of Jesus, and thirteen just happens to be the number of disciples present at the Last Supper. Combining the two would double the bad luck.
Walking under ladders goes back to ancient times, too. It formed a triangle when propped against a wall, and early humans equated this with the trinity of the nuclear family: father, mother, and child. To plass through this triangle was to disrupt it, hence, bad luck.
In Britain, a black cat crossing your path is lucky! Maybe it got reversed following the American Revolution. Personally, I agree with Groucho Marx: "A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere."
Broken mirrors--I've heard that it brings seven years of bad luck because when glass mirrors were first marketed they were extremely expensive, and the poor servant who broke one received no wages for seven years in order to pay for a replacement.
Salt has long been a symbol of life--therefore, to spill it was to put life at risk. Later it was said that the bad luck could be avoided by throwing some over the left shoulder, where the devil was supposedly standing. He'd get an eyeful of salt and leave you alone.
Let's see--other superstitions I can think of off the top of my head concern weddings (May is an unlucky month because it was the time of a Roman memorial for the dead). Pearls are for tears (I wore pearls at my first wedding, but I doubt that the tears shed over the failed marriage had anything to do with them!), and green--the color associated with fairies--is unlucky for a wedding dress.
Three on a match--a military one dating to the Crimean War--to light three cigarettes or cigars with the same match gave the enemy sufficient time to aim and fire at the group, increasing the chance of at least one being injured or killed.
As for Friday the Thirteenth, it's been extremely lucky (and profitable!) for the producers of the movie series.
Personally, it's just another day to me.

On Friday the 13th in October, the French King, with help from the Catholic Pope, attacked and arrested the Templars, which ended up being a massacre, basically. Since then, that day has been unlucky.

Hmm my opinion is that you know when you have a really bad day and say something like "this is the worst day ever" well someone was walking around on friday the 13th and heard a few different people say that and so it got them thinking, they saw a black cat walk under some ladders and then they walked into a puddle and got soaked because of it...so the legend/myth of Friday the 13th goes on lol :)

its to do with the knights templar. they were disbanded by the pope for alleged homosexuality in conjunction with the king of France. This happened on Friday 13th and the day has been considered unlucky since.

Was born on fri.13th, it's a superstition from long long ago. theres no 13th floors in tall buildings, just some people can cause themselves problems, by believing and being superstitious, wish bad luck on themselves, just like saying your sick when your not, you can make your brain tell your body that indeed you are.Luck has nothing to do with it...!
