It's great to use a calculator and I see that a number of people have given you the answer but that won't help you on a test.
So, use your logic to help. After all, your brain is a calculator, too!
If you buy something with sales tax added, you are going to pay more than $360. In fact, you are going to pay the whole $360, or 100% of it PLUS an additional 8.25%. So, in reality, you are going to pay 108.25%.
So, if you multiply the $360 X 108.25, you will get the total.
If you can remember this logic, it's easy to put into a calculator!

Well if the tax is $8.25 then the answer is 360 + 8.25 = 368.25. If the question is asking that the tax is 8.25% then the anser is 360 + (360 x.0825) =389.70

The answer is $389.70. The way you do this is by taking $360.00 and multiplying that by .0825 which is 8.25% in decimal percent. You should get $29.70 and when you add that to $360 is $389.70.

Multiply 360 by .0825 then add that to the 360 -or- multiply 360 by 1.0825. Either way will give you the correct answer.

if it is 8.25 % tax, then it is 0.825*360= 29.7
so, 29.7+360= 389,7
if it is 8.25 dollars tax, then it is 360+8.25= 368.25
