G.W. Bush values the saftey of himself and so he does what is best for himself, not Israel.

Also the US has been working on peace plans for the occupied territories for a long time and quietly advising this sort of strategy but also avoiding antagonising the Jewish lobby in the states.

Bush has no say so over the occupied territories and what Israel decides to do, contrary to popular belief. Israel dictates it's own policy and right now, as has always been the policy, is to confiscate more and more Palestinian land via the building of the wall and destruction of Palestinian homes and farms for immigrant Israeli settlers. The intention is to make life so difficult for the Palestinians that they will be forced to leave for the sake of their lives and families. Those who remain steadfast and refuse to leave Palestine are subject to daily harassment, humiliation, uncalled for jailing and even death. As Ariel Sharon put it when being interviewed on Israeli radio, "Don't worry about America, we control America and they know it."

You can't be serious.

You're one of those people who think that all of the strife in the Middle East is being caused by a bum real estate deal, aren't you? That of all of the land in the entire Mid-East, it's this little, tiny, Idaho-sized country that JUST SO HAPPENS to be primarily made up of a religion that the whole Mid-East is bred to hate, that is causing all of these problems? That in the 14 centuries of Islam, all of their uprising and anger is caused by a 70 year old land deal?

And where would you like them to go Captain Solutions? You think they'll get the opportunity to look for land somewhere else in the Middle East?

Seriously....read something beyond one-sided weblogs and get real with yourself.
