People can be strange. We say it's good to be yourself (which it is!) but then somebody comes along who is a little different and nobody seems to know how to handle it. What's worse is that instead of just trying to get to know the person and what they are all about, these people shut out the person they consider to be "different" and that's just not right!
So what can you do? DON'T compromise on who you are! You are who you are and if you try to be something else it WON'T work out for you in the long run. PAITENCE is the word of the day here. At 13 it can be especially difficult, but with time, and with age people SOMETIMES get a little smarter. Some of your classmates will likely eventually come around. I know this doesn't do much for you in the short term, but if you act like something you are not you won't be any happier, and might even feel worse in the end. Good Luck.

Its really easy to be one of the sheep and just trot along with the flock it takes a person with will and personality to buck the trend and show a little individuality so if people are on your back about being a nonconformist then tell them that you do conform to what you see as the real Tonja and not a stereo typical school girl . If you on the other hand see your choices as a burden then be just a little less extreme in public and let it race when you see fit . Goth is an expression of your heart not necessarily a life long choice of life style just be you and enjoy.

Being unique is wonderful. Regardless of your likes and dislikes you are who you are. You may find over the years that your likes and dislikes change. And that's OK. It's so important to be comfortable with who you are and to be courageous enough to be who you are. I applaud you for asking the question instead of conforming to what "everyone else" thinks.
You ask "when can I be myself and other people won't keep askin..." People will always ask and again, that's OK. They're noticing you and your uniqueness. Many of them are wishing they had your courage. Always be yourself. If others question it, ask them why they want to be so much like everyone else. Turn it around on them. You don't owe anyone an explanation of who you are. I've seen countless celebrities interviewed who say they were rejected socially when they were 13 because they were different from everyone else. Now everyone wants to be just like them because they're famous. We may see you in the limelight someday.
Always be who you are. Always be true to yourself. Always be proud of who you are. Never let anyone make you feel ashamed of being you. If you're unique, be proud of your uniqueness. That takes courage that too many people don't have. Good for you!

The teen years are very hard, and there is a lot of pressure to be like everyone else. If you have your own style, and know what you like, then you are a great young person! Being an individual with your own style is wonderful, and as long as what you do is acceptable to your parents and not harmful to your health in any way, then hooray for you,!!! Those who are giving you such a hard time are probably jealous because they lack the courage to be who they really want to be or they don't even know who they are. So be your self and enjoy your own individuality!

Dont change for other people.
If you are happy thats all that matter i have been different from everybody with clothes etc...all my life as i dont want to be a double act! These people are not worth worrying about you will find new friends and people you dont feel like you need to change for, and who will accept you for who you are.
This might take time but its when you really find out who ur friends are.
Good Luck and dont change who you are for anybody!

Carry on being yourself. You will meet others with the same interests.Theres nothing to be gained by becoming a sheep and following the herd.Make sure you answer all their ignorant questions as fully and politely as posible(this really throws them,Im 41 now and been doing it all my life, and the look of shock and confusion on the face of a clone makes it all worthwhile)
Be true to yourself in all ways

No its not a crime. But you are not unique unless you can prove it. The guys in your class doesn't like you much coz they think you claim to be unique but actually are not. So unless you can win them over by proving you are really unique you are nothing but a wannabe and just plain-o average.
If you are Unique then prove it to them and they will succumb to you .. best of luck.

i think being yourself is great you are a leader and not a follower to many people these days follow what they see in magazines and on TV who has the right to tell you what to wear and what music to listen to if you happy and you get on with your Friends then don't let other people bother you many people are scared of the unknown or something they don't no about , don't be afraid to express yourself .

Don't change. I'm sure you have a few friends, right? In high school, my best friend and I went to metal concerts and wore big pants, etc. We had a great time and didn't care what anyone else thought.
Of course, now I'm your basic soccer mom, but high school was fun :)

Only to the 90% of the population who are sheep. You want to be an individual GO FOR IT. Sheep can't stand anything different, they are scared if it so they want to destroy it.
Don't run with the crowd, stand above it.
