vertex angle A. opposite angle A is little " a " or the opposite side

vertex angle B, opposite angle B is little " b " or the adjacent side

oppposite the 90° angle is the hypotenuse

little " a " equals y on the y axis

Little " b " equals x on the x axis

sinθ = y / r or Opposite side / hypotenuse

cosθ = x / r or adjacent side / hypotenuse

tanθ = y / x or opposite side / adjacent side

sin = opposite/hypotenuse
cos = adjacent/hypotenuse

lateral area is the area of just the sides of a figure
surface area is the area of all faces of the figure (including the bases)
