You are party #1, you want to access something we will call party #2. Instead of going direct #1 -> #2 to access it you go though a "middle man" "third-party" to access #2.

#1 -> #3 -> #2. You are using a third party to access the thing.

Third-party access would be access by someone that is not directly tied to the situation. Think of it as a you and a friend discussing an event that involves the two of you. When you go home and tell a family member, that family member is essentially the "third party".

It means someone other than you or the person or product your dealing with can gain access to whatever it is your doing. For instance if your signing up for something on the internet and put in your email address and it says there may be 3rd party access; someone other than you and the website can get your email address information.

means it's a hand me down, such as what you get is what can get you into trouble or better yet what goes round comes round.... EG.. Product was for sale (shareware).... Product was stolen (pirated)... Product is free (third party)
