It will come off with a little time and patience.Soak it with solvent[charcoal lighter fluid] and let it work in.It will take several hours and some light scraping to loosen it up.

I would try to remove as much of the tape as you can first with a dull knife or wooden popsicle stick...take your time so as not to scratch the paint and you may want to try to soften it up first with a hair dryer or heat gun. You can get an adhesive remover like 3M at most parts or body shop supply stores to clean off the rest of the residue or try using WD-40..it works great on adhesive residues, just gets a little messy at times.
When you've got it all off, use rubbing compound if there are any scuffs in the paint and then rewax.
