I am 5'8" and she is 5'10"-we are becoming really close and potentially might get to date-ballroom/swing/salsa dancing is something I would like to do with her or anyone else I date-thanks for the input!

I am 5'11" and a partner I dance with very frequently is about 5'8". It doesn't seem to matter, because he is a strong partner and we dance well together.

In today's shake, rattle and booble dance, you don't need to lift yourself a few inches. But in traditional ballroom, you'll look better as a couple if you use some kind of platform shoes. I bought 2 pairs, one almost flat and the other they call a tango pair. The tango pair made me look smashing after I got used to wearing it. I wore it for all but the fast moving cha cha and swing.

I would advise not to wear those shoes...you can injure your self while dancing which is not what you want! The height difference does not really matter so much. It may feel awkward, but wearing those shoes would be worse.

Even 1 1/2" Latin shoes feel odd. The height difference isn't a big deal.

They might, but they'd also make you look unnaturally tall, they'd make you be awkward and you might trip, which would be worse, and then, it wouldn't be you ... why not just be you? If she likes you that's all you have to worry about, two inches doesn't matter ... besides, she may wear two inch heals which means you have to put in four inch lifts ... it all gets silly ... just be you

no, because she will probably wear high-heeled ballroom shoes. D'o. you'll be right back where you started. unless you plan to wear heels too.
