Personally, I am against circumcision, but this is for a stated medical condition.
Aside from being able to keep yourself cleaner, that's about it. I hear tales that uncut folks last longer with sex, but that is anecdotal

I was circumcised when I was 27 and would recommend you go through with it.
I suffered with tiny lesions to the tip of the foreskin after intercourse and masturbation and it would be irritating and sting for a while afterwards.
I knew circumcision was the remedy and I finally plucked up the courage, saw a doctor in Harley Street, London and underwent the operation a few weeks later in Luton. Local anasthetic was used so the procedure lasted less than an hour and then I went home. The operation cost £300.
I won't lie to you, it will hurt! After the operation my penis was bandaged tightly and the antiseptic in the wrapping stung alot. For a week it was very tough (as I questioned the wisdom of my decision) and was constantly sore, though not unbearable. I could still get out and about but would recommend a week off work. Nocturnal erections were sore and ice-cold objects had to be at hand to cool me down.
However after a few difficult days the doctor removed the bandages and the pain ceased. The stiches dissolved a few days later. I had to return for a second operation after the first had healed to have the frenulum removed (I had asked for this to be done in the operation but it wasn't fully removed). This was a very minor operation and caused me no discomfort whatsoever. That was 6 years ago and since then I've had no problems.
The glans are less sensitive as a result but nothing like as bad as I have read on some of the sites that oppose circumcision. When lubricated the sensation returns and is much, much better than before.
I have no regrets with undergoing circumcision at all and am very happy to lose my foreskin that irritated me. It feels a lot better, looks nicer and my girlfriend loves it!

If your phimosis isn't too bad (it doesn't hurt upon erection and/or it doesn't hinder peeing) then you can probably resolve the condition without needing a circumcision. Circumcision removes the entire foreskin, so there's no foreskin to draw back anymore
The first thing you should try are "stretching exercises." In one stretching exercise, take two fingers and hook a finger on each side of the foreskin opening and pull in opposite (like increasing its radius) directions as far as possible without pain or discomfort. Stretch and hold for a few seconds, then let it relax, then repeat the process for a few minutes each day for a few weeks to a month. It's best to do this after a shower.
If this doesn't work, there are many other options too. There are prescription creams that're supposed to help, and according to one paper, it's the most cost-effective treatment (see link 1). If this doesn't work after a month, only then should you consider surgical options.
But even with surgical options this doesn't necessarily mean circumcision. Circumcision removes a lot of nerve endings in the foreskin and thus decrease sensitivity (see link 2). There are procedures that remove little foreskin, have a quicker recovery time, are less painful, and are cheaper (see link 3). If it gets to the point that surgery is likely, you might want to consider that option. Also, there are varying degrees of circumcision (see link 4) if you're still adamant about that.
There really isn't any major benefits of circumcision unless your foreskin is giving you lots of trouble and medical necessity says it needs to go (which is rare). For more info on phimosis and whatnot, look to the remaining links. I hope you reconsider circumcision for something less severe.

WHOA! You don't need to be circumcised for phimosis. In most parts of the world this condition is very successfully treated without surgery. In the US doctors (often circumcised themselves) like to take the way that is easiest and most profitable FOR THEM. But it's not their ***** being permanently mutilated!
Try stretching the skin very gently with your fingers. It's usually easy to do in a warm bath, or else use some baby oil or lotion. Just hook your fingers on two sides of the skin and pull until it just starts to hurt - no more - hold a few seconds, relax, and then repeat. If you do this as often as you can for a couple of weeks, the skin will probably start to loosen. If not, do ask the doctor for some hormone cream to help.
Sometimes you just need to change the way you masturbate. See http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/beauge2/
Take a look at the excellent information at http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis Good luck - and don't let anybody chop off your skin! Get a second - even a third - opinion before you let anyone near your penis with anything sharp!

Go for it!!!
I had it done at the age of 22, and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had general anesthetic, and there was no real discomfort afterwards, apart from when I got erections and the stitches pulled a little (they then came out by themselves about a week after the operation).
I had it done because my foreskin wouldn't stay retracted during sex, and also for aesthetic considerations.
I notice your question was directed at guys who have been circumcised as teenagers (and/or young adults), therefore you're obviously interested in hearing from those who can tell you something about the operation etc. So don't pay too much attention to those members of the anti-circumcision lobby who take every opportunity they can to preach. You already know what it's like to have a foreskin, and if you're toying with the idea of getting cut, then you have some reservations about your present state. Make up your own mind, after reading what 'newly' circumcised guys have to say!! Best of luck.

Hey man... I feel your pain, I had to get a circumcision at the age of 22 due to a sexual injury... It left me unable to fully retract my foreskin. I waited for about a year to work up the courage to get it done and by then I had suffered some damage to the tip of my penis due to some circualtion problems which has left me with some loss of sensation there, so I kind of wish I'd done it sooner.
In my opinion dude, if it get's in the way the way it is or causes any kind of pain especially when erect, get rid of it, it really doesn't hurt as much as you might think and heals pretty quick (plus it swells up huge and looks kind of funny, I reccomend taking a picture for laughs later lol)... if you're not concerned by it then leave it, but seriously the only regret I have about mine is waiting.
Hope that helps.

I had it done at 26. The operation itself was with local anaesthetic. The shots felt like pubic hairs being plucked out. No worse than that. It was painless after that. Recovery was virtually painless too. In fact nobody even realised I had it done. Just carry on with life as normal with a few adjustments (avoid heavy physical work). It looks pretty bad at first.....like someone has hit it with a hammer repeatedly. It takes maybe 2 months for the swelling to go down fully (it looks bad but feels fine). Once its fully healed its much cleaner, looks better and feels more comfortable too. Just go for it.
I had it done in Luton too. Just wondering if it was the same guy that Kurt V went to?

I'm personally against circumcision on newborns, simply because it's painful, removes their right to choose, and new studies have found that it reduces sensitivity and sexual/masturbation pleasure.

Obviously if you have it done due to medical reasons that may not be the case.
However, keep in mind that there's alternatives out there. For one, there's a cream that works on about 95% of cases to stretch out the foreskin.

It's 0.05% betamethasone.
As far as cleaning goes; I'm uncircumcised and haven't had a problem with that; simply because it takes five seconds to slide it back and rub the head; it even feels good.

a lot of people might say they don't regret it but a lot of people say they do regret it. Think about if you like the feeling of it being covered, or really like the feeling of the head exposed rubbing against your clothes. I grew mine back and it is a big difference, I was cut as a baby, before you do it think about if you would definitely be happy with it and consider if there are any aspects of it that you would miss.
