The playoff matchups go like this:
First round:
1st vs. 8th
2nd vs. 7th
3rd vs. 6th
4th vs. 5th
Second round:
Winner of 1st vs. 8th against Winner of 4th vs. 5th
Winner of 2nd vs. 7th against Winner of 3rd. vs. 6th
Third round
Winners of the two second round games
This makes sense because if all of the higher ranked teams win, the final matchup will be 1st vs. 2nd

yes you are right.let me tell you the basics of the playoffs. In the current system, eight clubs from each of the league's two conferences qualify for the playoffs, with separate playoff brackets for each conference. In the 2002-03 season, the first-round series were expanded from best-of-5 to best-of-7; all other series have always been best-of-7.Who wins 4 game advances to the next round.Atmosphere of the playoffs are unbelievable,it's so intense.and you are right it's like 1st vs 8th,2nd vs 7th... I hope i could help you
