Diesels require maintenance of all filters on a regular basis. Especially the following filters:
#1. Fuel Do this sooner than the manual suggests 1/4 -1/3
#2. Air and pre filter.
#3. Oil filter_____ Always find the best - Wix, NAPA, (WIX), AC Delco.

Follow oil changes listed in your glove compartment.

Change the oil often, every 3,000 miles is good. Change the air and fuel filters often also. Other than that a good maintained diesel will run a long time. I have 350k on my 6.2 and it shows no signs of giving up any time soon.

Yes, it needs almost the same maintenance as a car. The oil needs to be changed every 3 thousand miles, and you need to keep the engine compartment clean and no debris in it.

agree with the others regular maintenance just like anything else. One thing I see missing is checking the PH level of the anti-freeze, if it becomes to strong on the Acid side it will eat your block, so it is important that you drain and flush at least every 3 years and check the PH level at every oil change.
