Funny you should mention. Last night at work there was a car fire in the garage. The entire building was engulfed in smoke. Without giving a damn about me, I go down there with a fire extinguisher. After using that, I found the fire hose on the wall and killed the fire. It took at least ten minutes for the fire department to get there and I was there the entire time. Something exploded under the hood but I was still there keeping the fire down. When the fire department did show up and take over, I just left. Not one person asked if I was okay, thanked me or anything. I could have died and not one person could have cared less.

Unfortunately all the time!!!! Its the price of being a mother. Its the one job you can't be truely replaced at, and the one that gets the least respect. For example, Iget up every morning, get my oldest off to school, make breakfast for the two little ones, do a load of laundry, give the two little one's a bath and get them dressed, go to work for 8 hours (sometimes with my 11 month old in tow), pick up the kids from daycare, go home and cook supper and help with my oldest's homework or go to her softball games and practice (again with the little ones in tow), put the little ones to bed, straighten up the house, and wake up in the early am (3:00) to give my baby a bottle. this is my dailey routine, in which I have about 2 minutes to my self and get no appreciation for it!!!!! And definitely no compliments AT ALL!!!!!!

That happens a lot. The trick is to never get your expectations up, then a compliment is a surprise every time! It sucks when that happens but it unfortunately happens a lot.

Usually my accomplishments are too personal and secret for anybody to understand, or know, and therefore be able to praise.

I'm not so insecure that I need compliments. Nice to have, but I won't get upset
if I don't get them.
