yeah, i've done that a few times. it's really frustrating.

i think if you've spent a lot of time preparing something it can be especially gutting ... but it's equally bad if you're just hungry, and maybe don't have the ingredients to start again.

worst time was when i'd made a lovely sausage casserole and the pot shattered as i was taking it out of the oven ... it smelled so good i was tempted to eat if off the floor. but of course that's gross, and i didn't!

Sadly yes,it was a steamy delicious plate of Spag Bol! To make it worse, the dog got there before I could start a salvage operation. I could only stand there and weep! And why do these things only happen when there is nothing left to eat in the house?

Well I made some scrupdillyicious sloppy joes one night and the tiny pan of oil next to it erupted into flames. My husband doused the whole kitchen with that fire extinguisher powder and we enjoyed a nice smokeless meal at Chipotle. I did drop a pie face down a couple of years ago in a crowded Thanksgiving kitchen. I scraped it all back inside and gave it to Aunt Hildegard. She loved it. Just kidding. I have no Aunt Hilde.

Hell no!!!

I ain't that stupid, careless or clumsy!

Are you?

Besides, you could always eat it off the floor with a fork or a spoon like Rachel & Chandler from Friends when they dropped their delicious & moist cheesecake in the corridor, remember?

That was a priceless comedy moment!

P.S. Man I miss Friends...

35 years or so ago, I had company. I had just taken the turkey out, put it on the
platter, and it slid off, flew across the floor and kersplat against the wall. Mom &
I just looked at it and scrambled to pick it up. She was laughing so hard but
managed to get out, " I won't tell if you won't tell." Every time we looked at each
other we started to laugh. No one ever found out.

OMG!! How did you keep in mind that? were you a touch mouse gazing, giggling, and in basic terms waiting for me to stroll away so that you would have a royal dinner party? I in all likelihood cursed a blue streak too...ought to have killed a mouse for attempting to eat my ruined meal!

Yes! It feels like a Lucy/ Ethel type of thing. I've also had a bus pass by on the street and make a huge wave of water soak me. You think those things aren't going to happen : )
