...so you answer them, and they dismiss you with that wave of the hand, like you're a mosquito or something.

I'll one up ya here. How about when you answer them and they turn their head and you see an ear piece cause they are talking to someone on the phone, not you.

Yes, or when you are out walking and someone waves or honks at you and you are not sure who they are and wave...
