If taken literally, obviously the most damaging to the world is climate change. The War on Terror has little effect on "the world". If taken as meaning which harms mankind most, it could be a tossup. Since climate has and will always happen, and given the fact than mankind has lived through several of these, the War on Terror could certainly be considered as a turning point in the history of mankind. A utopian ideal of eliminating terrorism, while probably not a practicable goal, is certainly a desirable one. Whether or not it is attainable is a different question.

I dont why it to has to be either or. That statement just shows how asinine the conservative thinking is. I guess they are not capable of multi tasking or something ( not calling you a conservative of course I have heard many repeat that line over and over so it must have been on Rush or Fox).

Both are equally damaging. The "war on terror" is such a broad sweeping war it could literally encompass anything for decades to come. Climate change may not affect us in OUR lifetime but it will affect others, and we only have one planet so we should do our best to take care of it.

Climate change can be beneficial or harmful, depending on how you deal with it. The war on terror is very unlikely to produce any real long term benefits and is a distraction from problems that actually can be solved.

Since terrorism is here forever, climate change is more damaging--and more destructive.

The El-Nino phenomenon which hit in 1982-83 was proof of that.

The climate's been changing since the world began, the Muzzies have been at jihad since the 7th century - it's not so much whether the climate or the Muzzies can be more dangerous but which we can do something about, and that's the Muzzies. You can't lock a heat wave up in Gitmo.
