Do you mean what kind of food when you don't have any? That would depend on your type of fish. Not all fish eat sea food.

Veggies are always good for fish pea, lettuce, beans, sprouts. Goldfish and others enjoy fruits like oranges and watermellon.

Worms are also a good choice since most fish will eat them as well as boiled rice. (for both herbivores and omnivores )

Remember fish foods have come a long way and contain what your fish needs. It is never a good idea to go with homemade foods unless you can ensure your type of fish's needs are being met.

Have to agree - it would depend on the fish.

Since you asked about seafood, I've seen homemade recipes that call for store-bought shrimp, crab, clams, mussels, etc. - anything from your store's frozen fish section, but try to match by source - salt with salt, fresh with fresh. You might even find nori (a type of seaweed product made for sushi in the oriental foods).

Freshwater herbivores can also eat romaine, spinach, squash, peas, and cucumber.

If you're looking to make some of your own and want a "binder", unflavored gelatin can be used to make "cubes", or just freeze the ingredients in a mini ice-cube tray - just fill the compartments as much as you need to make a single serving sized block.
