Hmmmm, well I would agree with you about the sleepy government page... I asked a question once, never got one answer!!! lol... just like the politicians in real life!?!
I believe that we are a great nation and should stay independent and rely on the Commonwealth more than the EU bureaucrats!! A national Europe is a scary place, and like the case of Yugoslavia... what happens if it doesn't work and some one wants out?!? not a nice thought!

I say lets stay in and do something to make it better, instead of just complaining about it all the time. The European Union is certainly far from perfect, but as it becomes increasingly important as a governing body, we should be taking it more seriously as such and should be playing a full roll in improving it as a democratic institution and making it more accountable. Europe as an institution could be of great benefit to all of its member states if it were run properly. It will never be run properly, however, until people start to take an interest and treat elections to the European Parliament with the importance they deserve. Its no good just shouting OUT! OUT! OUT! at every opportunity while complaining about the decisions the EU makes. If we want to change the policies of the EU, the only way to do it is by playing a full roll in the democratic process and voting for our representatives. We can only change it from the inside.

IN! most deffinately. The only reason Brussels causes us problems at the moment is because we're not with them. We want the benefits without the work and contribution. When would that ever happen anywhere else? If we were to join we may find these problems disappear. Not overnight but sooner rather than later. The longer we delay, the harder it will be to join when we really need to. As for the UKIP arguement, pull your heads out of your behinds you backwards political dinosaurs! We no longer have empire, world power and influence. The US took it all.

I would vote for out, but that is not now practical. It would cost the UK considerably more than we could possibly gain now, it's to late.
Pity we didn't have this forum before we joined, would never have happened then.
