Ok im 14 male and i think i have a tight foreskin. i can fully retract it when its soft, but when its hard the foreskin only gets about half to about 3/4 down the head, so it doesnt completley show the head of it. it doesnt hurt to masterbate or pull back, i was just wondering what could be done about this? can i stretch it myself, or can i get some sort of cream 2 help? or will it loosen up with age? i dont really like the idea of getting circumsized, and its not something i wanna rush out and tell my parents (ew that would be embarrassing). i know you might say dont worry about it, but me and my gf are starting to move past the "kissing" stage and onto more things (not actual sex though)

From your description, you seem to have a mild case of phimosis, a condition where the foreskin opening is too tight/narrow for it to be retracted all the way when flaccid (soft) and/or erect (hard). The good thing in your case is that it's mild and can be remedied by everything you've mentioned. The best thing is that circumcision is totally unnecessary for your particular condition.

WIth your condition, you could wait it out. Over time with more erections, the foreskin becomes more elastic and will be stretched more, so it's more able to be retracted; however, you can resolve the problem faster.

First try stretching exercises. In one stretching exercise, take two fingers and kind of hook each finger in two opposite sides of the foreskin opening; then stretch the opening in opposite directions (like increasing its radius) as far as possible without pain or discomfort. Stretch and hold for a few second, then let it relax for a few seconds, then repeat the process for a few minutes each day for several weeks to a month. It's best to do this exercise right after a shower/bath when the skin is most flexible (see link 1 for more info).

If this doesn't work or do much after a month, then you should ask a doctor about prescription creams. In one article, these creams are the most cost-effective treatment a doctor can give you (see link 2). In your case, if the stretching exercises don't work, then the creams almost certainly will, especially if combined with the stretching.

Lastly, worse comes to worst, and the creams also don't work, then you should probably consider surgical options. This doesn't necessarily mean circumcision, as there are procedures that remove less foreskin, are less painful, have a quicker recovery time, and are cheaper (see link 3). Also, there are varying degrees of circumcision ranging from partial circumcisions that remove almost no foreskin (only the tight part of the foreskin that's causing problems) to removal of the foreskin and even a little bit of shaft skin (see link 4).

Again, with the mildness of your condition there's no reason it should require any surgery of any kind. Really, do the stretching exercises and don't worry about it. Just be patient, because any treatment you get will require several weeks - either for it to work or for healing. See the remaining links for more info on phimosis and stuff. Also, keep your foreskin and penis as clean as possible, as that can help prevent future problems and even decrease the possibility of contracting some diseases (see last link).

I'm not sure the first answer is a good (detailed) one ...?

It really depends why it doesn't fully retract - is it painful to move it back any more than half or 3/4. Where and what is painful, if it is ...?

If it is "just" that the opening is quite tight and won't stretch then yes some slow, gently stretching will over time probably sort it out. You can help by doing this in a warm bath or shower - and also some creams can help - a doctor could prescribe a cortisone based one if necessary. But don't pull it too quickly as it may get 'stuck' which can be very painful and may need a visit to Accident & Emergency - perhaps even a partial or full circumcision to release.

If it is something else that is restricting the movement then pulling at it may make it worst - in which case a trip to the doctor may be the only answer. Don't be embarrased if you need to see them - they won't be.

Hope this helps a little - hope simply stretching does the trick.

You are still young - some guys can't retract fully until they are 18 or even older, and it's still perfectly normal. Or you may have a mild case of phimosis. You don't need to be circumcised for phimosis. In most parts of the world this condition is very successfully treated without surgery. In the US doctors (often circumcised themselves) like to take the way that is easiest and most profitable FOR THEM. But it's not their ***** being permanently mutilated!

Try stretching the skin very gently with your fingers. It's usually easy to do in a warm bath, or else use some baby oil or lotion. Just hook your fingers on two sides of the skin and pull until it just starts to hurt - no more - hold a few seconds, relax, and then repeat. If you do this as often as you can for a couple of weeks, the skin will probably start to loosen. If not, do ask the doctor for some hormone cream to help.
Sometimes you just need to change the way you masturbate. See http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/beauge2/

Take a look at the excellent information at http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis Good luck - and don't let anybody chop off your skin! Get a second - even a third - opinion before you let anyone near your penis with anything sharp!

it's best and you will have best feeling when the foreskin is fully retract when it's hard. best way is that you need to put lube or KY and try to retract it when it's hard. you have to do that often, so the skin will loosen up a bit. I have mine all covered when it's hard, but i prefer to pull it back, and i always do it, until it's fully pull back.
