Hello,

Could someone tell me if combining all types of exercises (Biceps, chest, shoulders, back...) in a day's workout is good? Is it ok if I do only a specific exercise per day like first day biceps, second day chest, next day shoulders etc...

Thanks.

work regions (upper body/lower body) of the body. don't only work certain muscles per day. for best results, always give each region a day off before working it again.

also important is waiting one minute between your reps of 15 (not 10).

note: the only muscles that respond well to daily workouts are the abdominal muscles.

final note: squats are the true test of a person's strength. not bench presses, or simple lifts. SQUATS! (I know, it's a funny word. so what? it's not a funny exercise, that's for damn sure.)

I wouldnt recommend it, its best to do maybe one or two exercises a day but not biceps, chest, shoulders, back you will over work your body, my boyfriend goes to the gym 5 times a week and does a different area on his body each day and has a great body but seriously dont do everything in one session you will just end up in pain.

Some people like to let their muscles rest in between workouts - so by alternating days they can let their lower body muscles repair themselves while doing upper body, and vice versa.

Myself, I generally work out 2-3 times a week at the gym, and I generally do the same full body workout each time. I start with 30 minutes of cardio on an elliptical machine (usually on a hill course, on higher levels). Then I do about 15-20 minutes of free weights. I am 6'3" 225#, and not really concerned about adding too much more bulk, so I stick to less weight and more reps. I also like to keep my heart rate up (keep in mind I start with cardio - and then go straight into the rest of the workout without stopping to rest) so I generally do the reps fairly fast. Some exercises you want to do slower to get the negative resistance though.

After weights, I go over to some cable driven machines and go through several sets of reps on each. Then to the ab bench, I brutalize my abs (always the first thing to go on a guy) by doing several sets of reps with weights attached to the bench. Then I go to the inverted situp bench, and do rotating and straight situps.

I keep going through just about every machine in the gym. Since I do the free weights (including several exercises with individual hand weights, standing with a bar, and then bench pressing, I don't have to use some of the machines because they would be redundant. I do plenty of leg exercises, some additional abs, back, and shoulders.

I cool down by walking a few laps, and sometimes go for a swim in the pool or soak in the steam room.

You don't necessarily need a gym to work out though - riding a bicycle is an excellent workout, and then you can do exercises like pushups, situps, crunches, leg lifts, and all kinds of stretches without any equipment at all. With a few weights (or using something to improvise as weight) you can get a full body workout right at your house.

You could train each area per day but i think it be the best do all every day. If and only if you going to work on those three areas.

Get Elastic rubber would be really good for all three areas. Dont forget push ups.

It all works out. SOme people combine everything in a day and some do upper torso one day and lower the next.

I've always had sucess by alternating the 2 major segregated muscle groups. Do your upper body M-W-F and then your leg and back groups T-TH-Sat and then rest everything on Sunday. Don't forget aerobic exercises too. Swimming or running.
