You know...during Vietnam the American citizens were told that the Vietnamese would follow us here if we left.

The last time I checked we weren't getting terrorist attacks from oriental folks.

It softens the troops morale. Shows military weakness that cannot defeat a group of radicals armed with WWII weapons and tactics. Americans will have one less hero to look up to. Policemen will be next.

You can thumbs down Tommy G all you like, but that is exactly how our Vietnam vets were treated when they returned from Vietnam. They were spit upon and mistreated. By anti-war Liberals.

And the terrorists are not viet cong. They will take our withdrawal as their victory, and they will come here.

A rapid exit is dangerous both physically and mentality.

Any exit would have to be a control exercise over the period of years. one would have to reduce numbers then regroup and then reduce again following this line overtime.

They would be labeled failures for life not to mention all the crap liberals will pile on them in the way of false guilt and shame. A year after they are home the liberals will see to it that anyone who admits they were a soldier in Iraq is labeled as a near criminal. It is what they did to the Vietnam Vets and it is what they will do to these Vets if we allow them to pull them out without a resolution to the situation.
