The only swedge that I'm aware of is a false edge on a knife where the blade has a ground edge on the back of the blade's spine. It removes weight from the blade and can change the blade's balance. Maybe a Kukri has a swedge?

Hope this helps :)

A kukri is a type of knife used by Gurkhas. Can only find 'swedge' as a verb - to swedge is to leave without paying. There is no such thing as a swedge (noun).
