Has a comic book writer ever come up with something that turned out to be practical in real life...?

Like a superhero's new technique for criminal investigation or emergency preparedness that worked...?

A self-invented power that could actually be built and marketed...?

A theory of physics that held some correspondence to the way particles really behave...?

Anything like that...? Anything...?

Actually the first answer so far is very good. I did not mean to neglect the social and moral aspects. I know that many young people, including myself, were inspired by noble comic book heroes to choose the honest path in life instead of crime. Any more out there...?

This is more on the superficial side i suppose...
But I suppose Archie comic books basically turned a lot of girls into Betty's and Veronica's or Cheryl Blossoms...
Where girls back then learned some kind of fashion or relationship sense from the comic book...

dumb I know, but i wanted to be something of a Veronica when I grew up... (sad)
Thank goodness I grew up with more sense than that (but I still like the comics)
