If your the only user on the computer you should be admin by defualt. If your not the only user you need to ask one of them to go to "Control Panel" and then "User Accounts" and get them to set you to "Admin rights" and not "Limited Rights".

If you use Windows XP Home edition then you can only access the Administrator login when you boot in Safe Mode.

As others have stated you probably have Administrator permissions if you are the only user on your PC.

If you made a user account and are using that, you can become administator, by logging off the user (not shutting down the computer or rebooting) and log on as "administrator" with no password.
