no, don't carve that head yourself, I don't trust you with a chainsaw.
buy one, then screw it onto your wood boat.
I am positive you can have it specially carved, by a furniture maker, or maybe the Amish can sell you one? They do alot of wood carving. Do you have Amish in the west? They live where we live, and especially around Indiana. Not that it helps ya any. Maybe they would mail it?
or maybe try home depot? See if they have any funky carved things, I doubt it, but I am sure you can think of something, being as extremely creative as you are. Are you gonna wear a viking hat, and fur underwear on your travels?
