'Feelings are not emotions that happen to you.Feelings are reactions you choose to have.' Feelings flow from thoughts & you are in control of your thoughts.

They're sensations that impel us into doing something, yes, and be inspired etc., even to use other parts of the brain (considering feelings derive from the brain) but I think they're much more deeply rooted than thoughts, for example, since I don't think we can really control feelings, whereas we can think for ourselves and concoct up ideas using our own will, but it seems like feelings are only ensued through situations and environments.
Also it seems as if feelings are actually our instinct or at least the 'background' of our instincts, they seem to be much more fixed anyway than, thoughts for example, which are rather dynamic.

Feelings are your spiritual reaction to a given situation. The body "feels" heat, cold, pain, pleasure, you know, the 5 senses stuff. Now the Spirit, or the Soul, or whatever you want to call that life force, feels the emotions, other wise know as feelings, love, hate, joy, anger etc.

It is interesting to note that the strength of the emotion or "feeling" felt by that spiritual part of the human, can so strongly impact on the body, it can make it heal faster, loose weight, look more attractive, or on the down side, get sick, look old, become lethargic.

Feelings are not some freak afterthought divorced from the evolutionary mind.

They are important guides that demonstrate your connection to your total self.

They are like the nerves in your fingers that tell you to pull away from a hot stove.

If you experience negative feelings, you are choosing thoughts that are not in harmony with your total being.

If you want to experience more happiness, choose thoughts that make you feel good.

Therefore, they are more than sensations. They are you emotional guidance system.

Feelings are energy and sensations...they are felt on a different level than thoughts.....heavier...

...feelings are are energy in motion. E-motions.

I do think feelings are sensations felt in the body(the body's reaction to thoughts), but I think feelings are part of what makes us human too....to feel sadness or joy, compassion and love, and everything inbetween, gives us added dimensions...

...to feel and express positive feelings can be beautiful...to learn to accept the darker feelings can bring compassion, and a shared connectedness to others...

They are brain's behavior and response to events that happen around you. Shallow feelings (physialogical, quenching of hunger or feeling warmth of someone) can be just sensations indicated by simple brain patterns and responses. Deeper feelings (emotional) are further brain patterns that are triggered by shallow feelings that are triggered by sensations or knowledge of something that happens around you but extapolated further into more complex patterns and responses (ex. feeling of Love, when someone say I Love You)

i would say they are mere sensations. hormons and electricity discharges in the brain. then we name them as love or pain and describe them with the other names and verbs and whatevers and all these things is just a game of language.

That depends on what sort of explanation you'd like. To science, they are a particular mixture of electro-chemical reactions in your physical brain. To religion, they could be anything from communication with nature, God or gods, or simply spirituality. And, of course, philosophy has many myriad explanations, but all without concreteness, thankfully. But, to me personally based on the current extent of my speculation, feelings are spiritual communication of our selves with life, with our spiritual self being currently in the form of the physical brain. Through physical existence, we are given the chance to live life.

Feelings are only feelings. They are not the fundemental guides of our lives.
Take a woman who is abused by her spouse and goes back every time. There is no doubt she "feels" love from this person, but is it the healthy choice for her?
If her feelings can betray her, why couldn't your feelings betray you? Check your back yard.

Understand the nature of your emotions or they will control you.

Feeling is what no others can attain in the same measure as I have attained . Ditto for others . Call it feelings , but to me , it is that I have reserved this moment for me exclusively. Feelings pass , No ?
