On a Friday night, would you rather go to a PUB or a CLUB?

Neither, I can't understand why anyone would want to go to a smokey (but not for long hee hee hee) room where they usually can't hear themselves think just to have a cold drink when they have a perfectly good and quiet sitting room not too far away (there's a club just down the road and a pub up the road with another pub just over there and two more clubs round the corner).

Apart from that, I'm a self-professing recluse. I go to work because I have to, I go shopping so I can get the reduced-for-a-quick-sale bargains they don't include with their online shopping service but that is about it.

I don't go to church anymore, not that I don't like church, I love worshipping the Lord but the rest of the faithful seem to want to do the same.

I don't go to Band anymore. I love playing the bass and you can hide behind a tuba to a certain extent but the basses are usually in the back row of the band and you have to pass everyone to get to the door.

I'd love to join an astronomical society but even though you're gazing through a telescope built for ONE high on a hill, other geeks and nerds (I AM and proud to be so) will want to discuss their findings

Depends on my needs. Sometimes I actually want to see a big crowd and "people watch". Some may consider me too old for the club scene, but it is a matter of what to expect out of it. I do love dancing, though. Pubs mean you are hanging with an extended family, of a sort. And most of the "Pubby" bars I have been to are family friendly and have an entirely different flavor than even the "clubby" pubs. Give me both, but at the right time.
