I've been to several. My favorites are Verdi and Puccini operas, in general. A little lighter and easier to follow.

Wonderful orchestration, amazing vocal ranges, great costumes.

I enjoyed it. It helps if you know the story line in advance, or you read the notes on it from the program.

The only operas I have ever been to are Gilbert & Sullivan,. such as HMS Pinafore and The Mikado. I found attending these enjoyable both because the music is very pleasing and the wit and humour of the dialogue brilliant. But in general I would rather attend an orchestral or chamber music performance of music by Beethoven or Tchaikovsky than any performance dominated by human voices.

I liked the Champagne

By the way...
Phantom of the Opera, isn't an Opera, it's a musical. I liked Phantom of the Opera, mainly because, well it wasn't an Opera.

Do you know that I have never been to an Opera, but have desperately wanted to for years!

I would love to go and see 'La Traviata'

I saw a bit of it on Arts world once and the Music was amazing. Very Powerful.

I think I just want to be Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman'!
