i cant even begin to count the friends and jobs and amounts of money i have lost over my alcohol and drug abuse.

Drinking alcohol and smoking pot caused me to drop out of college. So I basically lost my education because of them. And education is the one and only thing that nobody can ever take away from you. But I was stupid and had to go party all the time. Pot made me lazy, paranoid, and depressed. I lost a few jobs because of calling in "sick."
I finally quit smoking pot, and I never did any other illegal drugs since, but I still drink excessively. I go to work everyday and pay my bills and stuff, but it's causing problems in my marriage, so I'm trying to stop.

I personally don't have a problem w/ alcohol and drugs but my father was an alcoholic. growing up around it has definately caused me some issues in relationships. I stay away from alcohol and detest people who rely on alcohol as a form of socializing.

well, i dont have an alcohol/drug addiction, however, my ex bf used to be an alcoholic and everytime he would drink, he would get very violent and hit me. my dad has always been on some kind of drug and as a kid i was always sent to my room so that i would not see or be around it..i hate drugs and i hate alcohol, altho i do drink occationally...i think alcohol should be used speratically and only by mature ppl who know how to act responsible when intoxicated...

None. But I wish I could quit smoking. I have become a different person ever since I smoked.
