I am travelling to The Netherlands soon and will stay in Delft. Where is a good route to follow to see the bulb fields. I do not have time to enter Keukenhof Gardens, but will be visiting The Hague and The Aftluitsdijk. Thanks. James

Try this site: http://www.flowerparade.nl/bulbarea/bulbarea.html

They list a number of places where you can find the fields.

I don't know if you have a car or other means of transport. If you have a car, get close to "Voorhout" and "Lisse" or any of the other places mentioned on those websites. You will see the huge flower fields. Very impressive, very good photo-opportunities.
Find the location of those places on http://www.routenet.nl

You are missing out if you skip the Keukenhof. There are special buses going there, and it really is worthwile. It only lasts a few months!

The Afsluitdijk is impressive, but at the end of the day, it's a dike. Large, long, featureless.

On your way from The Hague to the Afsluitdijk, you'll probably see loads of bulb fields. If you travel by train, all the way from The Hague up to Leiden and Haarlem it's bulb fields on both sides of the railway track!

You can also go to the tourist office at Lisse, buy a map, hire some bikes and enjoy the tulip fields.

I'd do it quickly. It's really warm here at the moment and my tulips are dying....
