In The Tales of Ba Sing Se, Sokka's name was written as 索 卡 (Suǒ Kǎ) which means "inquire card". The second character, Kǎ, is the first character in Katara's name. In "The Tales of Ba Sing Se," Katara's name was written as 卡 塔 拉. Kǎ (卡) means to check, block, or card.

There WAS a rumor that all the new episodes (season 3: Fire) was going to air April 27th (I WISH!) but in reality nick hasn't sent an OFFICAL date yet, but the new episodes will most likely air in the fall.

P.S (I don't know if you meant last names or the same characters in Katara and Sokka's name).

The show never mentioned!!!! According to other forums, only important people have last names (For instance: Bei Fong). I looked up and down IMDB, Nickelodeon, and different forums. The only hope I would have is in the very first episode where Aang first meets Katara and Sokka (I think she tells him their names, but just says they are from the Water Tribe). They need to make new episodes soon!!!!
